This kit consists of two 3D printed resin parts in very high resolution and an A6 instruction page for a pair of GBU-24A/B.
GBU-A/Bs are laser guided bombs 2000lb class (1000kg).
Used on: Mirage 2000D, N, Rafale B/C/M, F-4, F-14, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, Tornado and others
Equiped efficient guidance technology, the GBU-24A/B with BLU-109 is developped as penetrator against bunkers in good weather conditions. « illuminated » by the plane dropping the bomb, or another plane, or even by troops on the ground.
The Rafale may be equiped by following laser designator pods :
- « Damoclès » Pod
- « Talios » (PDL NG) Pod
- « Sniper » AN/AAQ-33 Pod
The Rafale (all versions) carry up to three GBU-24, installed under the PU 708 main pylons and under the central pylon PU 9040.
They have no printing irregularities, the nose is printed with clear resin, the fins are thin but strong. The parts are protected in a cage allowing transport and storage without breakage, including fins.
GBU-24 Paveway III est une bombe aérienne américaine moderne à guidage laser. Il est capable de transporter des explosifs (H-6) pesant jusqu’à 429 kg, avec un poids à vide total allant jusqu’à 1085 kg. Le coût unitaire de la bombe en 2001 était estimé à 55 600 dollars (USD).
Le GBU-24 Paveway a été développé à partir du traditionnel Mk. 84 avec un poids de 909 kg ou une bombe pénétrante spéciale BLU-109. La modernisation des deux types de bombes a consisté à ajouter une tête spéciale guidant le faisceau laser et des ailerons pour corriger la chute de la bombe. Le premier élément a été développé à l’origine par Texas Instruments, qui est devenu plus tard une partie de Raytheon. Au cours de la production en série, trois modèles de cette bombe ont été créés. Le premier est le GBU-24 / B, basé sur la bombe Mk.84. Le deuxième modèle est le GBU-24A / B, basé sur la bombe BLU-109. La troisième version est la GBU-24B / B, qui est toujours basée sur la bombe de pénétration BLU-109, mais utilise un composant de guidage beaucoup plus parfait et sensible. Les bombes GBU-24 peuvent être emportées par, entre autres : F-16 C/D Fighting Falcon, F-15 E Strike Eagle ou F/A-18 Hornet.
